Video Idents / BNP Rome 3D

Motion graphics for conference idents, using After Effects to incorporate 3D elements and particle animations.

The brief was to create video idents for a conference in Rome to explore the use of mobile technology and social media in marketing. I proposed a virtual visit of Rome, using an iPad to show the city in more detail - as the tablet flies over the city, a 3D view of the city is revealed, with icons linked to locations on the map.

The animation is a composite of several plug-ins: Element 3D for the iPad, Trapcode Mir for the 3D cityscape, and Trapcode Particular for the icon particles. Open-source mapping data was used to build depth maps to create the different layers of the cityscape with Mir.
