Pomipidou Centre Facade LED Mesh during Paris Olympics

For the 2024 Paris Olympics, the entire facade of the Pompidou Centre was covered with an LED mesh screen, driven by Modulo Player.

To cover the entire 139.5 x 38.5 metre facade, it would have been impossible to install traditional LED panels due to their weight, so technical supplier Alabama chose to use a flexible LED mesh screen instead.

1674 LED panels were suspended from the facade of the museum for a total resolution of 3348 x 924 pixels, so the huge screen was driven by a single UHD output from the Modulo PI media servers. To ensure high-quality colour rendition, and to avoid gradient banding, source media files were encoded using the 10-bit Notch LC codec.

In the control booth, 3 Modulo Player machines assured main and backup playback, with an additional spare machine for last-minute media playback additions and client changes.
